ABOUT COBRA BMX

Heer Park BMX is operated by the Central Ohio Bicycle Racing Association, Inc. (COBRA BMX), under a lease agreement with Columbus Recreation and Parks. COBRA BMX is a non-profit organization promoting the sport of BMX in the Central Ohio area, and is recognized as a 501(c)(3) charitable organization by the Internal Revenue Service. As such, most donations to the organization are eligible to be deducted from your Federal Income Tax. (Please speak with your tax advisor for more information)

For many years, the racing facility and the non-profit organization running it have operated under a common name; COBRA BMX. The common use of this name has often led to confusion in the racing community. "Aren't they the same thing?"

COBRA is an acronym. It stands for Central Ohio Bicycle Racing Association, Inc. COBRA BMX is a non-profit organization staffed by a volunteer board of directors; since 1987 our goal has been to promote BMX in the Central Ohio area. A large part of that goal includes running an NBL-sanctioned BMX Track in Southern Columbus. For many years, that BMX track has commonly been known as "COBRA BMX".
